Now, this is not recommended and I am telling you this to stop anyone else doing something like this and as education only. If your house insurance has not got accidental damage cover AND you havent reported the theft to the plod, then you could upgrade your insurance to accidental damage and wait a few weeks - then claim. But you musn't do that as it is fraud. |

Then you put in a claim for the item stolen in November and the police report "oh yes when we arrested Pikey O'Thief in October we found this item in his possession". |

Little wonder that insurance costs are going thru the roof year on year with people being inventive about making claims. I detest people that do this sort of thing because at the end of the day everyone else has to make a contribution to the loss that was claimed for, and I don't see why I should have to pay for someone else's dishonesty.
Why not take this to its logical conclusion and have no house insurance at all. Then when it burns down, buy a policy and wait a few weeks then submit a claim.
