Being new to all this GPS navigation, I was wondering whether its possible to use a in car PDA/GPS combo for real time "on the fly" navigation. For example would the system allow me to drive around anywhere I like and still show my current position on screen - allowing me to plot a route manually, or do you only get a real time positioning when used as part of a pre-planned route.
Thanks in advance, for any replies. |

Hi,
to the forum.
I have only just recently seen the Memory Map software in action so I couldn't tell you too much about its various features, but I do know that it allows you to see your current position on screen and 'track' your route without pre-planning it.
E.g. You could start at Point A and travel to Point C via Point B. You would be able to follow the progress of your journey on the screen and also, if required, save a track of the journey to email to friends or print off on your PC later.
HTH.

I've used TT3 in navigator mode without having plotted a route. It shows me my current position as I'm driving along with no problems.
Is that what you're after? _________________ Geraint
