the 1710 bundle has TomTom Navigator 2004, not TomTom Navigator 3. _________________ Lutz

If the package that you are buying is the TomTom Navigator HP edition then it will come with a proper car mount as per our review. There is currently no other official TomTom bundle. _________________ Mike Barrett |

Hi,
If this is the 299.99 package as reviewed on this site it is Tom Tom Navigator 2004. this is only avalable in a package ( not as software by itself.
This is different to tom tom 3, some say it is not as feature rich as Tom tom 3. The software is mor on par with Tom Tom Go.
I bought one of these a couple of months ago. I have never used Tom Tom 3. The HP 1710 anf Tom Tom Navigator pack does everything I want it too !
You can easily download speed camera and other POIs. And it comes with a car mount charger GPS unit, 128mb SD card Etc. You may need a bigger Sd Card but a 512mb one can be had for about £25 to £30 if you want to download extra maps or a lot of POIs.

could you please tell me from where did you buy and how much was it?
and do you use powered car mount/ speaker mount or just the pda's own speakers? please share your experience! |

The price seeems to be about the same everywhere ! £299.99 I bought mine from Dixons ! Also got 12months Interest Free Credit too ! Not sure whether this is still on though !
One thing to look out for is some companys seem to selling this Ipaq with Tom Tom 3 instead of Tom Tom Navigator. There are differences between this software ! I think that Tom Tom 3 is a little bit more feature ( except for POIs where you need to download extra software ) rich but bear in mind that the rz1710 isnt a powerful PDA so not sure how it will cope with the software.
as stated previously this was my first venture into PDA and sat nav. Although more experianced users have expressed more concerns over this package, it does everything I need and I am pleased I made the plunge. I did not want to find another £100 for a more powerful PDA package. This one does what I want. I do howver have no previous experiances to compare this with.
Hope this helps Rinkrat |

Forgot to add !
I use only the standard mount supplied with the kit and reviewed on this site. The volume from the PDA is loud enough for me even with the radio on in the background. From what I've read the speaker on thr RZ1710 is one of the better ones for volume !
