Since this is a first post (even though I'm a veneran GPS user) a big hello to you all
Also, since the original thread covers lots of distinct topics, this is posted sepparately

Holux UK also said that there will be provisions for an external antenna in the second release of the CR-100.

Any more infos on this purported "second release" ? Any ETAs ?
Given that it seems that the existing CR-100 suffers from quite a number of glitches -- XDAIII connector problem, very limited numer of PDA connectors despite original claims, no external antenna connector, etc, etc --- one could hope a second realse would address those quirks.
So, anyone care to comment ? Maybe a member from Holux UK would give us a peek of what's under the wraps ;)?
TIA,
Yup.
P.S. More to the point / rant : I was a very happy camper with Holux CF GM 270 until an idiot broke into my car and stold that one and now am looking at a replacement, possibly coupled with an PDA upgrade to Toshiba e800. Honestily CR-100 + Toshiba e800 looks (on paper) like a really good combo -- assuming the required connector will eventually show up -- but all glitches reported so far make the existing variant a no-go, even if the base connector existed (AFAIK doesn't). |

I was not given a date for the relase when I spoke to HOLUX last year.
Wishlist:
Extensive compatibility for more PDAs
Glitches ironed out
SirfStarIII
External Ariel
TMC Module (please please please!)
Optional battery pack for using the unit outside of a car (wishful thinking!!!)
This would make the CR-100 superb, and it's already very good! |

Ermm....Not much extra new info, but thanks anyway for posting.
Needless to say, if you get any updates, I (and others, for sure) would highly appreciate. |
