|
|
Hi All, I am a new member and would appreciate some advice. I brought my TTG from Ebay some months ago, it is brand new and works brilliantly. I registered it with TOMTOM and have already received my case. however, i was wondering where i would send it if anything went wrong with it for example - if there was a manufacturer fault during the first 12 months or so - am i covered by the manufactures? and would i be able to send it to them. or am i !!!!
Many Thanks |

As long as you have proof of purchase, you would send it back to TomTom. _________________ Using an A to Z

Get someone you know to write you one out.

I think Tomtom may see through that one!
I suspect the 'ease' of warranty will depend on whether you purchased from an Ebay shop or private seller. The shop receipt should do the trick if the former and a private seller would be able to transfer their proof or purchase to you if the latter (I think).
Either way I think reliability is pretty good so you should be ok. |

Buying cash from ebay seems an unusual and risky thing to do. I hope for you its genuine, in which case you should be ok with map and software updates. You may have to provide the device code (serial number) when you activate the new maps, so you may only know at this time if your's is genuine. |

No wonder society is breaking down.
No one trusts anyone any more. What a shame. |

Somebody offers you a £500 car stereo for £50, no receipt, payable in cash, do you trust them, do you take the bargain no questions asked, or do you wonder why its so cheap.
Everybody is entitled to spend their money how they want, i would just be cautious. |

when i purchased the item it was advertised in the Ebay auction, I asked the seller if he would accept a certain amount cash. He agreed, I registered the unit with tomtom immediately and it activated and updated the software without problem and i also received the case a few weeks later, so i presume they accaepted the serial number i gave them and the item was genuine. |

you should be fine. You should just be able to upgrade the maps like everybody else. |
