|
|
I seem to recall that there was some software available that allowed you to change the colours of roads and areas in the TomTom 3 maps. COuld anyone point me to where I might locate it.
I have done a search of the forum but cannot find any reference.
Thank you for any advice provided |

Is there a skin which most closely resembles the colours you would find on Ordanance Survey (1:50,000) mapping?
All the schemes I've seen have colours which are nothing like the standard |

Britannica (one of the built-in options) is pretty close to current OS colours. _________________ Barry Davies

Hi,

I had a look but it is all in Dutch, I clicked the UK/USA flag at the top hoping for an English page, but it is still Dutch.
Any suggestions _________________ Leigh

Go here, which is the download page in Dutch, then click the USA/UK flag. Does that work?

You change the colours in TomTom Navigator by selecting different options in the General tab on the Properties page.
Each colour scheme in the drop-down lists is defined by a text file with the extension .CLR in the \Program Files\Navigator folder on the Pocket PC. You can't change the options listed, but you can edit the .CLR files to change the colours that they display. This is where the editor comes in.
The procedure is typically:
- In TomTom, try out the colour schemes to see what they look like. Choose one that is either very close to what you want so you can tweak it a bit, or one that you dislike and would never use so that you can then run riot with it. Note the name of the one you intend to change
- Exit TomTom
- Identify the corresponding .CLR file (e.g. Britannica colour scheme is called britanna.clr)
- Copy the .CLR file from the Pocket PC to your PC
- Make a backup copy of it somewhere else, just in case you regret your changes later
- Use the Colour Style Editor to open the .CLR file, adjust the colours to your liking, then save the file again with the same name
- Copy the edited .CLR file from the PC back to the Pocket PC, replacing the original file
- Start TomTom. The new colour scheme will load
Hope that helps. _________________ Barry Davies
