Has anyone got TT3 (Bluetooth receiver) and Nokia 6230 working together via a GPRS connection (to get TT traffic updates) ?
Because I am having major problems maintaining a connection - it stays connected for 3-5 minutes then it switches the phone off, so I took the phone back to O2 who updated the software on the phone to the latest version but still it didn’t work, now it will not connect at all and just switches the phone off.
The O2 shop say they have never seen the problem before and are sending it off to Nokia for further investigation.
Any thoughts?? _________________ TomTon One (v2) Europe (with a back up Ipaq 2210 -TT5 (upgraded from 3) & TT BT reciever with fixed TT Car Kit - just in case!)

Hi Darryl,
I don't know if this is anything to do with your problem as I haven't tried my 6230 with TT Traffic yet, but I do know that the 6230 is a funny phone and has some issues with GPRS.
Despite having had the correct settings sent to my phone, and having numerous telephone consultations with O2 staff, I cannot even get GPRS to work at all on my 6230. I spoke to 2 staff members who said that the 6230 has known connection issues with GPRS, although as yet they have not been able to solve mine.
I hope that Nokia are able to solve your problem - let us know if they do.
BTW, the Nokia 6310i phone is very good for GPRS. My boyfriend uses one for his TT Traffic connection and it works perfectly. I have actually got 2 to sell at the moment, so let me know if you are interested. :-)

The Nokia 6230 has a know issue to do with the bluetooth connection dropping. It has been fixed with the latest version of software, V5.24, but any older version has problems. O2 may have only put on V4.44, in which case you will still have the problem. Also if the phone has a build date of 082004, then the bluetooth chip is also faulty. To check your build date, type in the following code*#92702689# this will give you the info the technitions use to tell if the phone is still in warrenty, or has had work done on the phone. To get your software version, type in *#0000# and this will give you the software version, anything older than 4.44, and you will have problems. Some people have been lucky and not had these problems, but most do.
Thanks for the info Bo Peep, I will let you knwo what Nokia say, the annoying thing about this is that I upgraded from the 6310i (how much are you wanting for these phones and what condition are they in?).
Cheers. _________________ TomTon One (v2) Europe (with a back up Ipaq 2210 -TT5 (upgraded from 3) & TT BT reciever with fixed TT Car Kit - just in case!)

Hi Darryl,
They are both in excellent working order and good cosmetic condition (only a couple of minor marks on each, but you can buy replacement fascias for under £5 on Ebay if this bothers you.)
I was looking for offers of around £99 each as this was the Buy It Now price on Ebay.

Small comfort I know Darryl But I am having similar problems with an Orange SPV C500. I am on my third phone and a contact under topic "Error 500" is on his second. I think it was the 6010i that Orange Tech Support recomended when I called them but by then I was committed. If this one don't work I will be looking for a 6010i I've read several favourable reports on it, but then again I have seen good reoprts and recomendations for the C500.
