Dell Axim X5
Double Updates
After the lock-up problem being successfully ironed out I also found a newly released operating system update for Axim. I updated my ROM version from A00 to A02 while crossing my fingers not to be caught again in this untested water by TT (Be warned, it'll wipe out all programs installed in RAM and unbackupped data). I don't know which update contributes more but the address finding, route calculation and map's re-drawing are much faster now. TTN1 was working properly but the above things were very slow with my Axim. You felt the computer was reaching its limit. I'm glad to say TTN and Axim has become a much more satisfactory package now! _________________ XJT |

Problem with favourites seems fine now on my Pocket Loox (I'd only recently upgraded ROM - that will teach me!) However the demonstration route option does not seem to work for me ("Unable to start demonstration (2)"), but that's maybe something I'm doing wrong - I only clicked on it to see if it would be at all useful!
One other comment is that before this release came out I followed someones suggestion and reformatted my SD card - this made no difference to the problem, but (subjectively!) this did seem to speed up the search for places....a bit? Can anyone comment if this really makes a difference, and if so what format should be selected (I just select FAT quick format via a card reader using winXP)? _________________ Andrew Gibbs |

Worked fine since updating, happy again. Yes, lets hope the next thing to be fixed is the (quite atrocious) postcode routing ?!! |

I Have just updated Navigator as well, glad to say can now add my address as favourite, have just tried a short local trip and was able to navigate back home...... So far I am now a happy bunny. Tommorrow will be the real test when I use Navigator in anger.

just took TTN2.01 (3970/256cf/Garmin) for a test drive and tried my best to make it hang - hope I'm not being to premature but looks like it is now stable.
... lets hope that by being equally as vocal about the postcode feature (or lack of it) we might get TT to produce an equally quick response.

Just installed the update. It's no longer locking up at the previous problem addresses. So far so good. I'm quite happy now. _________________ XJT |

I've installed the update and am currently testing, but so far, it seems to have fixed the problems I was having with favourites.
