I am getting increasingly frustrated with TomTom traffic. While I think the data is very good I am finding in increasingly difficult to get a connection. On most average 1 hour journeys I get a connection once when creating the journey and then rarely after.
I either receive:
'unable to connect, check your connection'. I have a full signal strength and the G appears indication I have a GPRS connection. I can sync with ActiveSync OK.
or
I get the Windows message 'unable to place call' along with the message above in TomTom. When I receive this message I am unable to connect again using GPRS using TT or ActiveSync until I reboot the phone. This is bloomin annoying.
Anyone got any suggestions or tips?
Thanks _________________ Audi S4

I have the same problem, with TomTom Mobile. I'm glad it's not just me, but it'd be interesting to see if anyone else has it working perfectly. _________________ CJSnet |

Finally had a response from TT:
We are looking into the issue.
The only solution that we can give you for the moment is to disable traffic and enable it again when you get this message.
Not much use then but at least they are 'looking into it!' _________________ Audi S4

I got the same reply the same day as you.
But today I somehow managed to reset my account login details for traffic within TomTom, following a crash of my SPV C500. Since reactivating Traffic with my username/password it seems to work flawlessly!
My suggestion, find a way to reset your login details. What I don't know is how to do that, as it's stored in your preferences file and deleting that will also delete all your favourites.
You could ask TomTom to issue you a new username I suppose. If they ever reply that is...
Hope this helps and good luck _________________ CJSnet |

I have reinstalled TTM a number of times (not least because I have had a number of C500 replacement handsets due to failure) and as before I always keep receiving this error. While I find TTT very accurate, it is very frustrating that you cannot connect all the time. _________________ Audi S4

As of 2 weeks ago they seem to have fixed it, for me at least. Good luck the rest of you! _________________ CJSnet |

I have the same problem occasionally, and find it is worst when the traffic is busy - say about 5-6.00 pm. Just when you need it the most - great. It is very frustrating and will stop me from renewing in 9 months time, when my 12 months is up.
