Well, despite what it says here, my recently-bought Navman 3400 works absolutely fine in the Vauxhall Zafira hire car I have at the moment while my Astra is having a new radiator fitted...

The 52-reg Zafira is the basic 'Club' model - so I don't know if they use a cheaper windscreen in that. It doesn't appear to be tinted. Although having said that the windscreen in my W-reg (July 2000) Astra CD is tinted, and it works fine in that too.

Mostly Vauxhall's are unaffected by this problem due to them not having UV screens or heater coils in the windscreen which can dampen signals. I know that the Astra Coupe 2000 and New Vectra 53 are fine, both have highly tinted screens.

Dave, have you changed your car yet? If so, is it the Vectra?

I was trying to keep it low key because I could have sworn someone's been following me because I keep seeing a car with another Pocket PC in it

No doubt you'll be posting new pics in due course including your new Brodit mount?

Hamish, glad to hear that you have no problems with GPS in your Zafira.

However!!! I'd ask other Zafira owners to read the next line very carefully!

If, like myself, you bought a Sept 2002 onwards Zafira, it will absolutely NOT work with GPS. Vauxhall themselves have assured me that models from Sept 2002 all have heat reflectant 'pink' tinted screens fitted as standard.   Unfortunately for me, I found out the hard way but now have a new "non-heat refl" windscreen fitted so it works fine now whereas it did not before.

Well, I've just bought a brand new Zafria Elegance and had the windows solar protected (blacked-out). I have to say that upto now I've had no problems at all with my Ipaq 3850 & Navman 3000 with TomTom navigator.

As I've only had the navman a short while, if I do encounter any problems, I'll post them on here. Smile
