I have put France (about 230mbs) and major roads (about 100 mbs), and Belguim onto a 1 gb SD card, but when i select the 'switch map' option, TTN 'freezes' however, when I un-install the maps (France etc) it works again, any ideas?
To prove it is not the French maps, try installing a small section and see if that works, or trying installing only one map at a time and testing. I, too have European Maps, currently France, Spain and Portugal, and have had no problems on my 1 Gb (SanDisk - yes, ok I know) SD card.
Another trick is is try installing the French Maps only onto a smaller (256Mb) SD card... I also note you are running 3.03. Try 3.07 that ay also help. You do not mention what type of PPC you have. Older ones may have a problem with the newer SD cards. (SDIO) _________________ iPhone5, TomTom, Google maps, Navfree, Viewranger and Apple Maps (ekk)

I have a 1gb CF microdrive and loaded the french maps onto that. It did not lock up but was unacceptably slow, and gave the impression of locking up. The french maps are big and you will need a speedy SD card. You will notice how slow it is when you plan a route across France
