|
|
Hi. Have just upgraded to a LOOX 720 (superb machine!), and am wondering if anyone knows if a cable is available to make use of my existing TTN wired GPS unit? I see expansys used to sell one, but it's now discontinued. I have TTN3 up and running on the PPC.
I'd rather not buy a bluetooth receiver if it's an avoidable expense, and it seems daft hanging on to my iPAQ 5550 just for GPS.
Any help appreciated.

We've got bad news for you I am afraid. The Loox doesn't have a serial port. You can't use the TT serial GPS with it. _________________ Lutz

ah-ok. Do you have that sync cable? you could diy a db9-to-rj11 null modem adapter to test that. _________________ Lutz

Hmm. I'm certainly not technically competent enough to undertake anything so challenging! I guess I could cut the iPAQ connector from my existing charge & gps cable and see if a LOOX connector would fit, but I'd really prefer a TomTom cable, so I could use the wired GPS and charge the LOOX at the same time, like I used to do with my iPAQ.

Problem sorted. The LOOX 600 cable (available from several sources online, although not expansys) works fine.
