The size of the files are becoming too big [3000plus locations in one section]
Is the any chance that in the future they can be broken up into Country Sections[Wales,Scotland,Ireland,England] or even County Sections?
I use a Garmin iQue 3600 and it fails to cope with the 3000plus Gatso.
It copes with the 'mobile' list.
It would also cut out 'clutter' from details in areas I will rarely/never visit.
I know I'm asking a lot! |

I'm afraid that given the complexity and adminsitration overhead already equired to produce the database we are unlikely to ever produce a regionalised version.
Feedback in the past suggested that a vast majority prefer the data to be contained in a single database for each camera type, splitting this into regions would be time intensive.
We do of course review matters regularly but for now that's the policy! _________________ Darren Griffin |

Depending on the file type, you could edit the larger file and split it into 2 files, using the original name for the first half (.e.g pocketgps_uk_gatso.xxx), then naming the second (e.g. pocketgps_uk_gatso2.xxx), you may also need to add a new bitmap image for the second file.

Quite a long job but I have selected 1600 Gatso [South of Cheltenham] into 2 files and 500 mobile cameras, and changed them into GPX files then .mps files to import them into PalmDesktop to HotSync into iQue!!!!
The longest job is selecting and saving the 1600 from 3500 Gatso locations.
If I get photographed now it will be a waste of 3 hours work!
Thanks for your input. |

Hello Strumble,
The files i use are in .asc format, and as such i can open them in NotePad and just copy the first approx 1600 entries and paste them into a new text file and save them, change the file type to .asc and thats it.
Takes less than 2 minutes, i dont need to do this as my system can cope with the large file ok, but i did try it just to make sure that it worked.
Sorry your format does not work that way.
Regards

For a Garmin iQue I need either:-
MapSource-- .gdb .mps .gpx.wpt .rte .trk .grm
PalmDesktop-- .aba .csv .txt .tab .tsv
Can you suggest a shortcut for getting the SpeedCameras into the PalmDesktop[AddressBook] and I havr POIConverter.
Thanks for your help. |

Tried this but you get duplicated names [GAT 10 appears twice in different locations] |

Another problem when sorting is GAT1, GAT10, GAT100 - they would be better sorted by GAT001, GAT010, GAT100. |
