Help on re-installing needed!!

Can anyone help me? I dropprd my ipaq2210 and the battery disconnected. Tom-tom programs lost! I have the original version 2 disk and the version 3 upgrade disk. version three maps are on my memory card so not affected.

I have re-installed version 2 and am now trying to run the upgrade but it seems to have stalled. On the Pocket PC it says "writing information for 'remove programs'" but it has been at this point for two hours. Any ideas?

As the install has clearly stalled I would suggest you perform a soft-reset and start again. I'm almost certain you don't need to install TTN2 first. remove it and install the upgrade which is to all intents a full copy of TTN3.

If you have the maps on the storage card (which should be already activated and registered to your device from the previous installation) and if you don't use the Wizzard etc, you don't even need to install from the CD, you can just download the latest program and GPS update from the TomTom site and install the voices and it will be ok.

Thanks to both of you, Wilko and Darren. I think it is working now. I didn't uninstall version 2 - just tried again and it seems to be OK so far.

Wilko - I think the tom-tom site has taken the update to version 3 off the site pending their next version.

Do you think I should download version 3.03?
