|
|
I'm using the POI from Checkpoint.
Is there anything wrong with activating ALL checks for POI?
I thought that maybe it would effect performance or something??
Thanks.

there's a lot of things wrong with that... your system will become unusable .
The max number of POIs that you can enable is a function of the available RAM, but it's always a good idea to keep the number of custom POIs low and use external programs instead (like the postcode lookup tool) _________________ Lutz

erm... i didn't know this.
i foolishly added ALL the POI!
now when i start checkpoint...
it fails to load compalining about navigator overlooad with too many poi's.
can someone tell me how i can get rid of the poi's?
(i have tried to get rid of the poi's from the synchronisation option... but that seems to have no effect.)
i assume the poi's must be stored in files somewhere?
help! _________________ iPaq 3870

They are stored in the map folder, and you can delete the BMP/OV2 file pairs from there. _________________ Lutz

Well, you can try to do some cleanup and move applications from RAM to storage card. That will free up a couple of MB. But eventually you would need a machine with more RAM and a faster processor.
Or - TomTom would need to rethink the way they load custom POIs _________________ Lutz
