I don't know of any software specifically for walks so I also use OS mapping.
The good thing about Anquet in particular is their database of walks which can be downloaded from their website and imported to the PPC. This overlays a route onto the map to follow.
Obviously this route is only accurate if it was plotted properly. You can of course create your own routes on the PC and then transfer them to the PPC.
Most of the leading topographical software packages have this feature, some more sophisticated than others.
Occasionally you can lose the path but at least you know exactly where you are and can usually find your way which adds a bit of fun. (unless your batteries run out 8O ) _________________ Ian.

You haven't stated which OS software you are using but why not mark a route along your intended paths on the PC where it is easier to see the lines and markings on the map, then download this route to your device.
It would be easier to follow than the red dotted line on its own. _________________ Ian.
