It will work, but people have had problems. Firstly the audio level on the 5450's are very low and aren't that good in-car for giving voice notification, the 3950/70 or 3850/70 are ideal though.
There have also been problems with the compatibility of the sleeve where it pnysically won't work or hangs. Some people have said they don't have a problem, but a lot of people do seem to have problems. There is a driver fix out now from Navman on their website which is supposed to address this problem, from the response here it sounds like it has fixed the problem, but I don't have a 5450 I can try it on myself. |

Dave,
Thankyou for your reply. From a sound point of view, it appears from other threads that not being able to hear the commands may actually be beneficial!
Suppose my next question is aimed at anyone who has 5450 and a 3400 and has got it to work.
Is it difficult to patch the ipaq?
Sorry 4 being thick

Just to update you all I've tested the patch (Ipaq 5455 with Smart ST, TomTom GPS & Ozi Explorer) and it works a treat, the sleeve gets recognised instantly and doesn't require a soft reset.
It also seems a bit faster than the old driver!
I'll update you if they're any bugs that crop up.
Cheerio

It's exactly what it says it is, a driver update. It will not fix address/posetcode search. |

I am new to the Pocket PC world, but have been using GPS systems for 8 years.
I was looking favorably at the 5450 and the Navman 3400 (GPS and software bundle from gps http://www.globalpositioningsystems.co.uk/viewprod.php?product_id=242&category_id=22 )
Having spoken to them, they will sell me the bundle but would not recommend the 5450.
Having read various threads on this, could someone please confirm whether the 5450 and the bundle on the above url will actually work.
Many thanks in advance
