Hi ,I have just returned to the UK after spending the last month on holiday in Tunisia and was looking forward to reading all the posts that I had missed :)but when I logged on I got the message that there were none since my last visit 8O This meant I had to trawl through searching by date of post Any clues has to why this has happened as I have not had any problem in the passed and my computer has not been used by anyone else
thanks

This came up a couple of weeks ago and was due to the URL used to access the site. If you use http://www.pocketgpsworld.com to access then it should be OK. |

Hi oddsock,
It may also be that your Pocket GPS World cookie is corrupt. Try deleting your temporary internet files and cookies and then logging on again.
HTH.

Thanks for the replies.I deleted files and cookies but no joy ,however the URL suggested by nej works fine! I would still like to find out why this occurred in the first place though as I hate unsolved mysteries
thanks again

Strangely enough the problem has been visible for over a year since we introduced the PocketGPSWorld.com domain, but for some unexplicable reason it wouuld affect some more than others running particular browser versions etc.
If you're running FireFox this is a different issue as we did patch the site to avoid some FireFox issues and this has had an effect in the FireFox browser.
The main issue though of not seeing views since last post or being logged out is when you start using multiple domains, so if you surf to us on pocketgpsworld.com and then click a URL that someone posts in a forum to PocketGPSWorld.com then this will create you two cookies for the same realm and this can create a cookie style corruption.
We always suggest using PocketGPSWorld.com where possible as this resolves all known issues with cookies. Also running some of the latest security software can also have adverse effects because lots will block cookies and cause problems. |

This may be the answer as the only changes made to my PC since returning home was to update the free versions of "Zone Alarms" firewall and "Antivir" antivirus software.
thanks

One thing you will find is that ZoneAlarm has a privacy option, this will block cookies and when re-installing sometimes will default to on. You can either disable this or you can add the domain name into the site to enable cookies and popups. |
