that's a common issue with XP, especially after SP2. Try reinstalling ActiveSync 3.7.1 _________________ Lutz

3.7.1 is the problem, downgrade to 3.7 or below and it will be okay. There's download links on our download menu to various ActiveSync versions.
It's a known Microsoft bug that Microsoft STILL hasn't fixed. |

Thats strange?
I have SP2 installed and I use active Sync 3.7.1
I can sync to the PPC and everything works fine with no problems at all.
In fact after reading horror stories about SP2 I didn't want o install it but as I had automatic updates switched on and SP2 had started to install automatically I decided to let it finish. Nedless to say I needn't have worried as I have not experienced any issues with it at all. _________________ Ian.

I too have Win XP (Pro) with SP2 installed. I have ActiveSync 3.7.1 (Build 4034) and like icsys have had no problems. _________________ Tim |

yeah, it works fine until you start using more than one pocket pc on the same active sync PC. AS gets confused after a while and doesn't show the folders any more. Interestingly enough the way via the "My Computer . Mobile Device" may still work, and the way via the dev tools (Remote File Viewer WILL still work. Sometimes killing wcescomm.exe helps, sometimes a rebot, sometimes just patience. _________________ Lutz

Sorry Lutz, but my 3970 and 5555 are definitely different and both work just fine on the same PC. I guess that my situation is the exception that proves the rule.... _________________ Tim |

Do you have your PC setup to have partnerships with both devices?
I can't afford that because I use multiple PCs to connect to multiple pocket pcs, and have set AS to automatically only accept guest connections - maybe that's contributing, too. _________________ Lutz

Make sure your cradle is unplugged from your PC when installing activeSync otherwise this could cause you problems synchronising with the PDA. _________________ Ian.
