|
|
Hi all,
i have tried countless times now to install/setup checkpoint ver 3.2 but for some reason i cannot synchronise it to the poi website to d/l overlays etc? I have correctly setup my internet connection and registered with the site and have received my activation code., and my internet is ok as i can browse any sites, i just cannot "log-in" to the popi site, either i get an error saying " cannot connect to the poi website" or it says " the email/code is wrong"? i have tried and tried but i still get errors. Also, when i click on the various options in the Checkpoint icon, my ppc just beeps at me and doesn't do anything, unless i do a soft reset, then under synchronisation settings i am prompted to enetr my email address and the code again, and this just gives me the same errors again and again, i'm going round in circles but getting nowhere! I have come to the conclusion that it will not work on my Windows mobile 2003 on my ipaq 5450 series with TomTom navigator 3.2? and would like to try an older version but i can't find it anywhere to d/l?
Incidently, GPS Assist worked fine with no problems but i wanted to try Checkpoint because of it's ability to give voice warnings of approaching speed cams etc, also i could create my own voice prompts too ( if i could just get the bl##dy thing to work!)
anyone have any ideas?
my setup...
Ipaq 5450 (latest Rom up to date)
TomTom Navigator ver3.2
Windows Mobile 2003
Active Sync ver 3.7
cheers.... 8O |

I think you'll be better off using version 2.02 of checkPOInt. From what I have read on these forums, version 2.02 is a lot less problematic than version 3.2, especially when synchronising and is usually the prefered choice.
However, someone may be able to help you to get this version to work.
Personally, I now use the GPSAssist add-on. |

I have installed POI Sync and seem to have POIs downloaded into my 2210.
However, when I look at my sync settings in checkpoint(on the PDA) the email is blank and poiplace security code is also blank.
Internet settings are - "Directly"
Overlay settings state - "Not synchronised"
The synchronise option is greyed out.
I also have blanks in an email address box and a POI place security code box for poi.
The internet settings on my PDA are "Directly". The settings on my PC are as directed in set up instructions
Any ideas?

I have given up the chase and went for version 2 also.
Wonder why they issue new versions if they dont work? |
