What handset are you experiencing this on? It sounds like the handset is under strain. Remove the Red Light and SPECS POI's, reboot the phone and test.
if it now works OK, re-add the POIs one by one testing in between. Given the limited processing power on a Smartphone they may not be able handle proximity monitoring for multiple POI files. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Ah, that's the problem, you're using a 6600 ;) Seriously though, these handsets have limited processing power and there is quite a load when you ask it to run a SatNav app and monitor multiple POIs for proximity alerts.
The E200 I have can handle the three OK but it remains to be seen how much more it can take before it starts struggling. _________________ Darren Griffin |

so which ones are the best to select out the below in preference
PocketGPS_UK_GATSO
PocketGPS_UK_REDLIGHT
PocketGPS_UK_SPECS
PocketGPS_CONTINENTAL
obviously gatso would be a top choice i`d imagine
what type is redlight, specs ( what type of cameras ) |

Keep GATSO, redlight are Gatso or Truvelo type cameras located at junctions to catch amber gamblers, SPECS is the average speed system being roled out in certain areas and at some motorway roadworks. You pass under the first and your registration number is recorded, further on you pass a second that calculates your average speed over the stretch and issues a ticket if you were speeding, nasty beggars. _________________ Darren Griffin |

update
i`ve tested everything
turned off 3d maps
selected just directs with no maps
and everything else i could think of
but still get the double spoken directs
BUT...i can have the below selected with sound warnings and all is ok
PocketGPS_UK_REDLIGHT
PocketGPS_UK_SPECS
PocketGPS_CONTINENTAL
but as soon as i select gatso problem comes bak
so its just the gatso POI that causes the problem |

Hmm, I wonder if that POI has been corrupted in some way? Mike has a 6600 and AFAIK it's working on his but I will enquire.
Inthe meantime could you copy that POI over to the phone again? _________________ Darren Griffin |

Ive got the same problem, nokia 6600 will not run any of camera types have tried each one individually I think the problem is down to a lack of processing power. Just loaded them all back on and tested this evening with E200 and works perfectly

Sorry to have missed out on this thread.
I have been using TomTom mobile for some time now with the POI enhancements. The version I am running is 4.300 (279) with GPS driver 1.20. I say ths because it probably is not the released version of the software.
Now I have the original Speed Camera database installed, along with 4 other POI databases which I monitor and I do not have any problems with performance or stuttering of the voice instructions.
It may be that there are a number of factors involved in this so the first thing I will do is upgrade the camera POI database.
If someone who is having problems can let me know what version TomTom reports in the about screen I will see if I can get hold of that software.
I have installed the software onto a 512Mb MMC card along with some other software and maps. The amount of free space on the MMC could be an issue, could someone let me know haw much space is on the cards where these problems are occurring. I was never given the official TomTom release package so I am not sure what size and type of card is used. I am assuming it is a 128MB. _________________ Mike Barrett |

hi
thanks for looking into this
my tomtom is App version 4.400 (285)
gps driver v1.20
map: Great-britain-map v390
language English uk
yes the original card is 128mmc
but i`ve never used the card i backed it up directly to my 512mmc card which gives me plenty of space
everything works fine all the POI and everything even the gatso camera detection....but its when gatso is active and your being directed on route thats when the issue is
feel free to contact me via email on sales@taktmobiles.com
and i`ll help in anyway i can to solve this with ya |
