I'm currently working with Leo to get these added.
When I get chance I will add EXITSPECS to the STA download and they'll appear as actual 'END' cameras in STA. Leo is going to be adding a new category for EXITSPECS (i.e. a marker to turn off average speed but that doesn't show on the map as an actual camera).

EXITSPECS are now included in the STA download as type 10011 - this means they will show on the map as being physical END cameras.
Once I get the go ahead from Leo I will change the type to download as 10013 which will be a dummy EXIT and not show on the map.

Can't test that till next week as they're shutting the M4 tonight, junctions 6 to 8/9, till monday morning, due to replacing a bridge near Maidenhead.
Same again next weekend, full weekend closure, same stretch. _________________ DashCam:

Yes I can see them in other places, but not in the area I was travelling today. CamAlert has always switched off previously when travelling, so must have been there, but STA stayed active until I had to cancel it about 2 miles further down the road.
I have submitted a new one today, but wasn't sure where to locate it to avoid confusion with the road running alongside.
Which also begs the question, i'm sure I have seen the answer previously, what turns off the specs zone in STA if not exitspecs? Leaving the specs zones usually gives me the end of specs zone voice. _________________ Garmin Drivesmart 51 LMT-D Europe |

Leo uses the underlying map data to try and work out if you've left the Specs road. From what I've experienced it takes a near 90 degree left or right turn onto another road for it to trigger. _________________ DashCam:

Ahhh right. The roads just "peel apart" like a fork in the road, so maybe that's why. _________________ Garmin Drivesmart 51 LMT-D Europe |

Same for me at the Reading end. The M4 just forks off onto the A329(M) and it takes a 90 degree right turn at Winnersh Triangle to trigger the end specs message a few miles down the road.
However, at the Hayes end, almost as soon as I turn off the M4 onto the A312 it triggers it within a few hundred yards.
Once Leo and MaFt have implemented the 'silent' ExitSpecs it will be business as usual. _________________ DashCam:

Hi. Few words to clarify about av. exits in configurations like M6 J3A.
Current production version surely will not exit av. zone as in described case, if no map data (road network) was loaded.
With the map data the app can calculate zone length and the length (when it becomes zero) is the criteria to stop av. calc. I expect that the app will stop av. calc somewhere near A446, though I haven't made test there.
Next version will support dedicated type 100013 for EXITSPECS (developer version on my phone already does).
I thought that it is better to display EXITSPECS on the map, but as smaller markers with different icon, optionally with different color. To clearly understand where they are and what to expect from the app. |

Thanks for all your time Leo, it's appreciated.
The only issue I'm having is 'overspeed'. I have my phone on permanent vibrate so I get nothing through the phone speakers.
The first alert via bluetooth through the car system works perfectly but another verbal warning(s) via bluetooth would be useful. That way it mutes the car audio, so you have no excuse to miss the warning.
See what others think. _________________ DashCam:

Hi Leo. I have the road network loaded on my phone, but it still didn't exit. _________________ Garmin Drivesmart 51 LMT-D Europe |

The road network has no influence on a 'fork'.
It makes a significant improvement to a definate change of direction though. _________________ DashCam:

Same for ENDSPECS would be my preference. |

What I've noticed is that I always get an advance warning for Specs. I'm set for just 1 second but typically it's 3 to 5 seconds.
However, every end specs always tells me - after I've just passed the camera.
= It's working perfectly for me, no complaints here re the above _________________ DashCam:
