|

This may seem a daft question, but its illuding me ....
When my zumo 595 is in either cradle, the battery shows as full, but t=when I remove it from either cradle, the battery very quickly drops to a very low level - within 10-15 minutes.
If I plug the device into my laptop, the battery instantly shows as full, if I plug it into a charging socket, it shows as charging but when I remove from the charger, the battery shows as almost flat. I have had it on-charge for an hour or so.
How the bloomin' heck do I charge the damn thing and not simply power it? |

On the Zumo 590, I just leave it on charge overnight. It takes about 8 hours for a full charge.
When in the cradle the battery shows as full but it has a lightning bolt through it showing it’s on charge. |

Perhaps your battery has reached the end of its life, following a large number of charging cycles, and is no longer holding its charge?
I bought a replacement for an old Nuvi from a company called "BatteryUpgrade". I looked on their website just now and a replacement battery for your model is about £27, with free shipping. I also suspect that can find something on Youtube about how you swap the particular battery
(I wish to make clear that I have no connection with the company, I am just replying to your post). |

The device is only a year old, so I'd be a bit miffed if the battery is knackered after a year.
I've had the device on charge for 24 hrs and the battery is still only at 75%
I may have to go for the 3rd party battery option and see how it goes.
As it is, I only get about 10-15 mins of battery like when unmounted so route planning has to be quick-time. |
