|
|
I've noticed a handful of 'SPECS' cameras on the M62 between Bradford and the M1 (there may be more but I was heading south so didn't see).
They look like SPECS cameras with the bird logo. However, they're grey not yellow, there are no roadworks, there are no average speed signs and some are near gantries that already have both older gatso's as well as HADECS...
It's a Smart Motorway so I have a feeling they're being used for some of the monitoring BUT then there are already separate cameras at regular intervals for that...
Anyone know what they are?! I've emailed West Yorks SCP to ask for info too. |

Bit of a crappy reply... There's nothing on the site, that's why I emailed them! |

About as helpful as Nottinghamshire. I e-mailed them recently to ask if the gobbledegook spreadsheet on their website could be explained a little better, maybe a few notes to help decipher it and all I got back was a note claiming the data (on their anti-speeding site) was nothing to do with them, it was provided by the County Council. |

I've noticed this recently, although I keep seeing the last one east bound and then remember that I should have been looking for the earlier one(s).
Any further news on their purpose? |

Any further update on these? They seem very unusual. |

Ideally some dashcam screengrabs so we know what we are looking for. _________________ DashCam:

A normal specs camera (usual pole and arm with a 'bird' in the corner) but grey instead yellow.

I've always thought they look a bit like a Batarang. |

Just checked my saved footage.
All the Specs I have saved, with the 'bird', are temporary Specs for roadworks.
All the permanent Specs have no support of any kind for the horizontal section that holds the cameras. _________________ DashCam:
