|

Hi, (cross posted to Haicom and Navigon forums)
Anyone any experience of using a Haicom 204e receiver with Navigon's Mobile Navigator 4? We've tried and couldn't get it to work. There are no 'real' settings in MN4, only settings for baud rate.
Fiddling with GPSDash and GPSTweak we discovered that the 204e only likes NMEA at 4800 baud. Is this the problem? Does Navigon not like NMEA?
Would we fair better with GNS's 9830:

Thanks for any help.. |

^ I meant 204 's'. It's the 'mouse' type. Sorry. |

I used Navigon MN4 for a long while with a CF GPS running on COM7 at 4800 baud in NMEA mode.... so it's definitely not that.
You don't have the Tomtom GPS driver (2.08 & above) loaded do you ? |

I've not got anything loaded other than Navigon MN4.
It works with TT and things like GPSDash, you have to connect at 4800 baud and with NMEA though.
Under MN4 I've selected the 'other type' of GPS receiver and the appropriate baud rate and still nothing happens. |

And you've selected the same COM port as works in other applications and closed those applications down before launching MN4 (check in your task manager application)?
There really is no reason for it not to work.... the 'other' setting is for a general purpose NMEA GPS... |

Yep. It's 'serial on COM1'. Also, I cold booted my iPAQ and fresh installed just Navigon to see if that fixed it. But it didn't. Heh. |
