|
|
Just used CamerAlert in the car for the first time (I usually use my Zumo 660 on the bike). I liked it, yet I immediately found myself wishing the visual alerts were much bigger and bolder. Currently they are the same font size as text designed to be read close up; but in a driving situation, the phone is some distance away on an arm or something stuck to the windcreen. So having big, colourful messages (different colour depending on the type of alert) would be so much more preferable. Plus I don't see a need to see previous alerts - it just detracts from the clarity.... _________________ Where there's a will - there's me! |

Does not the audible alert bring your attention to the fact that you are approaching a camera? Who really needs to read about it as well? |

Me
I find the large 44x44 icons on my Garmin a boon as I can see a camera ahead before my set proximity. _________________ Satnav:

I think that willmow is talking about the banner text, as he refers to font size.
But is he talking about the popup banner text or the list? |

Where's the bloody Edit button in this thread? Why is it not there?
@willmow. You know that you can suppress the display of cameras behind you in list mode, don't you? |

Change your settings :-
Have it warn audibly - I have mine do both siren and voice
Have it show the map when near camera.
Then you'll get shouted at AND your iPhone will change to this display...

Many thanks to all. I'll have a gander at the settings again and see what suits me. _________________ Where there's a will - there's me! |

@willmow
It's years since I've used an iPhone but is the 'alerts' style notification still an option?
See the manual part 6f: www.cameralert.com/manual/ios |
