Is it possible to get a power cable for my Nuvi 67LM that I have can have hardwired into the car electrics. I'm getting a new car and it does have a small tray on the top of the dash that would be the ideal location for the Nuvi. I assume that the cable could be threaded up through the edge of the tray - but that is something I would need to confirm. |

The only safe way to do it is to get a female power socket extension. Ring do one on Amazon.
Then trim and wire that in to your fusebox and plug the Garmin lead into that.
The reason is that your car pumps out 12v but the Garmin only needs 5v _________________ Satnav:

Yes you could. Either hardwire in a power socket and use the original cable or buy a kit from Garmin. Note you cannot just cut off the plug as it contains a 12v to 5v convertor. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

I have seen kits on Ebay which are for motorbikes - are they suitable? |

Not having ever had anything to do with motorbikes, I was hoping for confirmation that a motorbike elctrics is 12V the same as a car? |

Do you mean 12v input and 5v output? |

Is it a 67LM or a 67LMT? Third party power cables can be suspect for getting traffic to work even if the seller claims that they are (I've been caught. Luckily no prob with refund, but extortionate price from Garmin). As suggested by others, a hard wired ciggy socket with a genuine Garmin power cable 'does it' for me. |

It is the 67LM, the cable not working for traffic is not a concern there is no traffic coverage here in Northern Ireland! At least so I believe. |

Seems that there's an echo around here here here.
There is an edit button, so you should have been able to edit your first post to add the word 'cable'. |
