Hyundai 2016 Tucson

Does anyone know if PGPS cameras can be added to the poi's on the factory fitted nav unit on this car? (and how please).

I was just looking for the same info, although I'm 99% sure they can't.... but I'd be gladly corrected if they can Smile

I was also looking for info on creating my own POI's.
I have CSV file with specific places on and by all accounts this needs to be in the format of GPX or KML for the system to recognise, upload and use.

So if there's anyone out there familiar with these file types I'd sure be obliged for some help.

Unless someone with a Hyundai 2016 Tucson can come forward and answer definitively, you'll need to provide much more info!
Make and model of the Satnav? (It's unlikely to be made by Hyundai.)

You're probably right, it may not be made by Hyundai.
Without ripping the radio out I won't know.... and I don't really want to do this on a 3 month old car... or put another way - I doubt I'll be allowed Laughing

It came with a very basic manual on the radio system - its a Navman sytem, and you can use TomToms Cameras and Traffic.

It does state that you can add your POI's using GPX/KLM format, it just doesn't tell you how (well not as far as as that manual goes) - I'm still reading the 600 page owners manual.

I know with my Qashqai I had to have it in folders called my POI etc so it may be the same.

So my first mission is to take my CSV file that I have (holiday destinations) and try to convert that to one of these formats and just see what happens when I install the USB.

If I have any luck with personal POI's I'll post back.

Regarding the SpeedCamera Database on here... if someone know if its available in one of these formats and can point it out then I'll gladly have a play to see if they show up.

In the meantime, I guess I'll just have to continue to Hotspot my phone to the in car WiFi and use TomToms Cameras and Traffic.

Only had the car a month so all very new and unknown.

Out of your 4 questions, two can be answered at this stage...

Proximity Alerts
If I have connected my phone to the car and use the TomTom Cameras, it does give these, whether it will work on "Own POI's" I have yet to test.

Loading POI's
This I believe is from a USB.

Fingers crossed on some online resources - its fairly new, but I'm going to see what the predecessor IX35 had and see if its the same. May be more info out there for that.

Never had a vehicle with in-built SatNav, although if you can have a look at the actuatl unit (in the boot, glovebox, under seat, etc) it may have Hyundai and/or Tucson on the unit but it may also have another name and model number. Failing that, the Hyundai Tucson manual may tell you the unit's detail. Failing that as a last reort you could visit your nearest Hyundai dealer and ask them for help on the subject. Thumbs Up

Once you know the SatNav make and model (it it likely to be used in other cars than just the Hyundai Tucson) try Googling for it with the words third party POI and variation of that theme.

Builtin SatNavs have been around for a long time now and many are getting the ability to allow users to add their own third party POIs. I would certainly expect this as the minimum and likely proximity alerts too. Often you'll also get directional alerts so fingers crossed.

I have tried to add to my Hyundai but the sat nav wont even read the GPX files to import them.

Anyone else had any luck or is there another gpx version i can try?

Ah, I see.
What info is in your POI .GPX files, and how does that compare with the PGPSW file? We may be able to find a file with the right data (or modify one) then convert it to .GPX.

So mine is a much simpler version with only lat/long and name.

Is it possible to download a GPX version of the database with only that info on any of the current choices?
