Have never used my Garmin outside UK. If I take it to, say, Spain, will it automatically pick up the local location or will I need to change the country manually? |

It's all seamless, just need to set your measurements from mph to kph
Just bear in mind that when you first switch it on it'll take longer than normal to locate you as it's moved a long way and therefore needs to reacquire certain satellite data. This will be quicker if you don't move until you've achieved a satellite lock. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

If you have a Spanish person in your car while using the Garmin, they'll fall about laughing at the British pronunciation of the Spanish road names! |

I get enough laughs at some of the English pronunciations of English road names/ place names. |

The one that makes me chuckle is a road in Greenford:

I have the Garmin system on my built-in Kenwood head unit. It will be seamless when you go.
But you will need to change the country/region in the destination page when you input an address, otherwise it will only offer suggestions for the UK. For instance, if you start typing "Malaga", it will only offer things like "Malvern". _________________ TTGO 700 (dead)

Well that depends on your device. On my 2508 if you simply do a search then it'll pick up anything on your map, whether it's Malaga or Malvern, no matter where you are. Once you're in a country the Address page defaults to the country you're in, no need to change the country as it's done automatically _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |
