It appears that the 50mph/h Average speed camera zone between Scotch corner and Leeming Bar is not reported by the Cameralert app as one continuous Zone but goes to Mobile camera zone alert 70mph at various intervals. It is very difficult to accurately report each individual camera location while concentrating on driving.Do not any public records exist for the length of these roadworks and length of camera zone from Start to finish? |

It might also be worth looking at the accuracy of the A1 northbound Average speed camera zone from Lobley Hill to Metro Centre as it is down to 30 mph.Southbound down to 40mph.These roadworks go on until spring 2017 so it is worth updating the database. |

I don't know about how Specs 50mph cameras zones are put into the database but I do know that one 70 mph mobile camera (46205) still exits when I travel up the A1. I'm sure that one could be removed from the database as the temporary 50 zone will stay there until the works are complete and that any existing camera locations on the old A1 will disappear, if only because the A1 will no longer exist in its present form. It is being upgraded from dual 2 all purpose road to a full dual 3 motorway. any existing camera sites on the old A1 except of course for the Specs between the A66 Scotch Corner and Leeming Bar will be completely relocated after the roadworks are complete.
As for public records, they only list the length of highway that is subject to any speed restriction and not the location of camera sites and temporary speed limits have a large coverall area that may not be subject to speed limits for the full duration of the works. They take too long to process to be date and location accurate. It's a legal thing rather than an engineering thing. |

If you can submit these requests on the map (http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Cameras&op=SubmitCamera) then that would be helpful :D
Generally we leave mobile sites during roadworks however on the A1 it sounds like they would be going afterwards so submit a request for them to be removed (along with a comment as to why).
As for speeds for roadworks cameras- again, please submit any changes!

At the higher end of the Scotch Corner section, the cameras keep moving as they alter the road.
Only just this week, I have submitted 2 changes as one is a new location and another is now defunct. |

I have submitted many requests where I know mobile cameras cannot be used, yet they still appear on the database. The reason I have given, is because the structure of the road since the works have finished, have meant that the site cannot be used because of, say, a crash barrier is now in place, or the mound has been removed.
2 that spring to mind are 38373 and 29928, which are near my house.
In fact iirc, I raised a thread on here pre xmas about the same subject:

In general, remove request for mobile sites dismissed UNLESS there is an explanation in the comments explaining why! |
