I would like to read something on the GPS and what it offers. Are there any such publications? |

I had an ancient Garmin twenty years ago or so then I bought a Garmin Quest whose first job was to get out of the centre of Edinburgh but its very cumbersome to operate.
Then my daughter lent me her TomTom which is not bad but I want to look at all of the capabilities in other machines that I have found when I skim magazine's I come across. In other words now I want to find just what the GPS world offer such as diversions if there is a traffic jam on my route or hidden speed cameras and more to the point what such services cost. |

Not sure there is any publication that will do that. Both modern Garmin and TomTom GPS provide access to speed cameras, traffic, detours etc as do many of the other less well known brands. What you get though depends on which model you purchase, as not all of them provide every capability. More you pay the more options you tend to get.
Updates to speed cameras vary in cost depending on where you get them from. Traffic updates on Garmins at least are free if you've bought a unit that comes with free lifetime traffic, models that end in LT or LMT.
This might help

but parts are out of date/incorrect. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way.

Yeah, the same idea to above. I also do not confirm that any publication will do that. I just know the Garmin and TomTom GPS can provide access to speed cameras, traffic, detours etc. |
