|
|
Hi
Further to my previous thread.
I would like to upgrade my GO 730 to a Tomtom device that offers free lifetime map upgrades but is still compatible with PocketGPSworld camera data base and voice alerts.
Could someone please advise me as to the best model that will do this?
It seems that the Go 5000 or 5100 are not compatible with the voice alerts.
Thanks |

as per other thread, none of the latest TT models allow PGPSW database to be used - if you need to use then get a Garmin or use a mobile with cameralert |

@walkerx
Thanks for the reply.
I was wondering though if any models, not necessarily the latest models (or a specific model), met the criteria of free lifetime map upgrades and compatibility with PocketGPSworld camera data base.
However, thank you for your response. |

Did you follow the links I gave in your other thread?
If you did you will have seen that the Via 135M that I recommended includes lifetime maps and is compatible with the camera database. _________________ Anita

Isn't it just wonderful when people start two threads the same. It's a heck of a job trying to keep up with the replies unless there are links to the other thread (Thanks Anita), he presumably didn't |

I did see the links, and thank you very much for the information.
Some people seemed to think that I have asked exactly the same question twice, however, one thread dealt with the upgrade from the 730 to the 5100 which has kindly been answered, and the second thread dealt with the dual requirement of free map upgrades and compatibility with PocketGPS camera database which has also been kindly answered with the supplied links.
I did not want to hijack my own initial thread with a separate new question, hence the two threads.
My earlier reply to @walkerx on this thread was to effectively explain to walkerx about the dual requirement not being limited to recent TT models and was not a repeat of the question, which had been answered by “Anita” with the supplied links on the other thread
However, it seems I have not made that very clear and so would apologise for any confusion but would like to thank everybody for their input. |
