Having just downloaded the latest My Drive Connect from TT this morning I still find that Mapshare updates are still not working.
I have for some time now opted out of mapshare on the advice from TT as no matter how many times I try to install the update I always have a message telling me that there is still an update to install.
I decided today to "re-join" on the basis that the new software might have resolved the problem but to no avail.
I'm working with a TT1005 Live and Windows 7. Is there anyone out there with a similar set up that can install mapshare?
Thanks |

Sorry, I don't have Windows. On my Mac I have now downloaded the new Connect and mapshare installations STILL take 20 minutes to install (whilst in Home on my GO700 they take a fwe seconds). And they then STILL show as update available immediately. _________________ Dennis

Dennis. Thanks for the info. My problem is that the mapshare download appears to "download" extremely quickly. I then get a message stating that it is installing and will take approximately 10 minutes. However the installation timer bar show 100% and after only a few seconds it states that the installation is complete. And then of course I get the message that there is an identical sized (currently 1mb) file to download. I therefore have no way of knowing whether or not I have actually downloaded and installed the file. And of course being a 1005 device I cannot see the drive to see if the file has been downloaded and installed. Frustrating. When I contacted TT by phone they said that they could see that I had downloaded the file and therefore it must be installed. However on the TT forum Dikko informed me that there was a known problem with the installation of mapshare on my type of device and that there was no point in trying to install the files until they sorted out the problem. That was earlier this year and it would appear that the new MyDrive Connect software hasn't resolved the problem even with today's latest update. Hey Ho!!

I had the same problem with map updates being stuck in an endless loop, I was sceptical but a factory reset did the job. It was a pain having to tweak the unit back to where I had it but worth it in the end. |
