|
|
Hi,
Second attempt at posting. I can't find the post I did earlier today.
Yesterday I found that the maps on my PGPSW did not show for about 10 minutes after I began my journey.
The mobile traps I have entered showed up and the alerts came but there was no map. (They are still not verified though they are heavily used by trappers.)
I have had occasions before where the map disappeared but never for this long.
The map eventually came back and then part of it would disiappear for a time.
Is there a fix.
Lets hope this question makes the forum this time.
I notcie my inbox is 13% full but I can't access it as the icon is greyed out.
Help
Cheers

No expert at this, so hope I can help a little.
You don't say what device you are using, but I'll assume a mobile phone.
I believe that for the maps to work you need a data connection, if this drops out then do will the maps. I believe they are mostly downloaded on the fly from Google.
You can change the map settings within the camera alert app. From memory I think they are, never show, show when near a camera and sore all the time.
Could check them to make sure they are right for you.
Apologies on advance of I've got wrong end of the stick.

Your previous post is here.
If you're ever trying to find one of your own posts go to the Forum Index page here. Above the last column in the pale blue headings "Forum", "Topics", "Posts", "Last Post" you'll see that one of the options is "View your posts". Just click it to see a list of posts you have made. _________________ Anita

Or even the top load of tabs under the PGPSW header. Click on 'Forums' and chose 'Your posts' |

Of course, all the best advice in the world falls on deaf ears if he hasn't ticked the Profile item to "Always notify me of replies". _________________ Dennis

I'm afraid I've been doing it via the Index page since before top tabs were invented! I didn't even know 'Your posts' had been included when they were added.

Or you can use the 'New Posts' option to list them all. That'll also find your own post if it has been answered. |

Hi,
Yes it is a Moto G phone and sometimes sitting at home the maps will show and other times I see a pale blue screen with a diddy cross in the middle. This morning under the same condtions all maps showed almost immediately.
As mentioned in my previous "lost" post sometimes part of the maps disappear and leave blank parts of the screen showing a graph paper background.
BTW I used to covet a Thunderbird as a teen. Closest I got was riding my cousin's Twenty One. Had to get used to the gears being on the "wrong" side as my own bike was an Ariel KH twin. |

Had the problem again yesterday. Maps not showing at all and satellite icon staying red. Left on for a few hours and nothing. GPS was set to high accuracy
Then last night I tried again and maps lit up right away as they did again this morning.
Any further thoughts folks?
Cheers

The red icon means that you do not have a satellite lock. GPS set to high accuracy, but did you actually have a lock on the sats? Did you try any other satlock dependent apps to see if you had a lock or not?
The lack of maps might be caused by no lock as if CA doesn't know where it is, how will it know which map tiles to download.
You do realise that if you display the maps in normal use, you are going to use mobile data, don't you?
As for the maps showing last night, perhaps the right map tiles have been cached on the phone as mine shows maps before I have a satlock.? |

Cheers for your reply.
Aye 'tis most odd that it happens from time to time. Can't think of the reason. Google maps works fine. |
