I think once the incident is cleared it just gets removed ?
On the Smartlink front I did the whole kit and caboodle at the weekend:
Turn off Smartlink service on the phone
Delete all Smartlink data on the phone
Uninstall Smartlink
Reboot the phone
Garmin - full factory reset
Reinstall Smartlink
Re-pair phone to Garmin
Setup Smartlink link
Still not getting accurate traffic like I used to prior the first week of June so that's my lot with fiddling. I'll leave it running pending Garmin firmware update and/or new Smartlink version. _________________ DashCam:

Me too. I have chased up my Garmin support call today to ask what progress they are making and when the service will be fixed. How they can remain so quiet about a service that has been broken for over a month now is amazing - but perhaps as long as there are more people buying new units than those jumping ship due to a failed service then they are happy with that despite any reputational damage they are suffering. _________________ Garmin 2569LMT-D s/w 8.80 + Western Europe map 2019.10

Well it's possible it's not a problem on the Garmin side ... although of course it could well be.
Seen no references to problems like this on the Garmin forum or indeed other forums, apart from Kremmens post on http://forums.gpsreview.net/discussions to which no one responded.
Traffic via cable still works, so I'm not clear exactly where the problem could be |

Same here, I can't seem to pinpoint it.
One day Smartlink on the phone shows traffic that isn't transferred to the Garmin and another day it's not on the Smartlink map or list so obviously it's not going to be transferred across.
Just had a quick look on the phone and I have got a dozen or so yellow roads showing. Not near the Garmin to check what's on there.
CJ - what phone have you got ?
I'm running a HTC One (M7) that was upgraded to KitKat a few months back. Let's get Smartlink and KitKit in or out of the equation. _________________ DashCam:

I run the Smartphone Link app v1.7 on an old HTC Desire S that's on android 2.3.5. It has been doing this successfully for a long time up until the recent issue, and meets the app's requirement of '2.1 and up'.
I also have a more modern phone (Galaxy S3 mini with 4.1.2) but the Bluetooth is hopeless on that and it won't pair properly with my 2595; hence use of the older phone to run Smartphone Link in conjunction with my 2595.
P.S. I have recently made contact with Garmin UK via their Facebook page where they asked for all the details to be emailed to them, so am hoping a resolution will be forthcoming via that route. _________________ Garmin 2569LMT-D s/w 8.80 + Western Europe map 2019.10

Thanks
Facebook is often the media where companies take note I've heard. Not on FB myself though.
Looking at my setup, the data on the phone is changing by the hour and there is a small amount of traffic but loads of roadworks.
I still can't remember seeing the sheer amount of roadworks I am now. Most of it wrong or only overnight.
Wherever I look I see loads of grey roads which never used to be there. I'm thinking the grey roadworks are flooding out the yellow/red sections.
I don't particularly care about roadworks unless they are causing a holdup which then should display yellow or red as appropriate.
I recall at the time I noticed it thinking 'what's all this with grey roads'.
Anyway, they have 7 weeks to sort it out or the Garmin is out as it will just be a PGPSW camera unit and I can do that via CamerAlert which is better because it's directional. After that I'm on early retirement so I won't need super accurate traffic and the built in RDS TMC will be adequate. _________________ DashCam:

OK, a new reply from Garmin Support this morning:
I will be happy to help you with this. To resolve this issue I strongly recommend updating your unit's software.
To update your unit to the latest software, you need to use the Garmin WebUpdater program. You can install and run WebUpdater any time that you need to update your unit. WebUpdater lets you connect with our server, download, and install the latest updates for your GPS unit.
To view the installation instructions, please click the link below: http://www.garmin.com/webupdater
I have also attached a step-by-step guide to help you install and use the Garmin WebUpdater application.
If it states that you already have the latest software, please reinstall this.
A key point I noted from the reply was to reinstall the s/w if it was already up to date, so have done that and will see how the Live Traffic service performs on a trip tomorrow. _________________ Garmin 2569LMT-D s/w 8.80 + Western Europe map 2019.10

Do you want the bad news - ?
I've already done exactly that at the weekend. I also tried to get at the MapUpdater program but that has been superseded by GE.
Made no difference.
Garmin need to stop all these roadworks being sent to smartlink. I never remember seeing any grey stretches of road before it started going wrong. _________________ DashCam:

Oh dear, it does not sound hopeful then. For a short while I'd like to be optimistic and see how it performs on my trip tomorrow. _________________ Garmin 2569LMT-D s/w 8.80 + Western Europe map 2019.10

I think they've done something without realising it.
I've ordered a HTC One D160 car dock/mount in preparation.
The Garmin docs do state that they don't guarantee the traffic content as it comes from a third party supplier so I'm guessing this issue is bottom of the pile. _________________ DashCam:

The final countdown has begun.
I now have the HTC Dock in stock. If the Garmin traffic is still failing next week then the following week when I'm on hols the Garmin is out and the HTC Dock and CamerAlert is in.
I noticed that the CamerAlert maps display also shows traffic in the form of thin coloured lines, that'll do for me _________________ DashCam:

I have just used smartlink with my 3597 for 4 days and 1700 miles through France and it has been spot on. Definately looks like a unit fault or an Android issue (I'm an Apple user). |

Mine is now boxed and I'm using my phone with CamerAlert and getting TMC RDS traffic from my built in system. CamerAlert does show traffic on the map though and that is proving accurate as it looks like Google maps traffic.
I wonder why only a few of us are affected ?
I would be interested to know of anyone else using the western section of the M25 or indeed west London who is getting the yellow/red road sections because mine certainly stopped giving those out from early June and instead I got loads of grey roadworks.
Smartlink v 1.7
Nuvi Firmware 4.40
But the one update that seemed to be the one that was closest to mine breaking was a GTM update I accepted even though mine uses the TA cord.
Just before I boxed it I did a quick test of Smartlink v TA20 cord:
TA20 list of local 'incidents' was 16
SmartLink list of local 'incidents' was 200(ish), the vast majority being out of date roadworks.
When I looked on the Smartlink map itself most of them didn't appear. _________________ DashCam:

I don't use Smartlink, but do use the digital traffic that comes down the phone. I went round the M1 and M25 today and the traffic was spot on.
So, maybe not using Smartlink traffic is the answer?

What digital traffic app do you use on your phone as an alternative to the Garmin Smartphone Link app then?
I'm looking to try alternative options as Garmin customer support have still not come up with a fix for this issue yet.
My 2595LMT came with a GTM 36 cable that I understand picks up traffic data on an FM RDS-TMC channel but is not as detailed nor nearly as frequently updated as the Live Traffic service via the Garmin Smartphone Link app - hence use of the latter. _________________ Garmin 2569LMT-D s/w 8.80 + Western Europe map 2019.10
