|
|
Greetings all!
I have started to 'play' with using the Navigation function on a 5.5" android phone (clone - read ebay) after some success on a 4" one as an alternative to my trusty old TomTom.
So far I have been delighted and have now also added to Camera Alert app to it.
I have so far found that I can have the navigation mapped and running in Google Maps. I can have the Camera Alert mapped and running in the App. I can have the navigation running with camera alert in the background giving verbal warnings.
What I don't seem to be able to have is the two integrated so that I can have the navigation in the app or the app showing the cameras in Google Maps. Is this the limits of the system or have I missed a trick,
S&F

The Camera Alert app will not place any images or information into Google maps, its running along side(or behind) Google maps. So voice warnings only |

But the alerts will be overlaid on google maps etc. And if you ave overspeed warnings on then those will display over the top of any other apps.
See here:

I've just found this app also for my Android phone (Galaxy S4) and would ideally love to have Google Maps integration also, or at lease some side-by-side or overlaid visual indication of camera type, location plus my current speed (similar to Garmin SatNavs).
While I appreciate there's technical reasons why you can't integrate into Google Maps directly, having some form of overlay, even if - similar to the over-speed indication shown previously - Google Maps was temporarily hidden until such time (a couple of seconds or so) the alert disappears (audible alert is mandatory also).
This is the start of a great product, which caused me to re-new my camera database subscription straight away as I can now (hopefully) ditch using the Garmin SatNav in favour of my phone |

Just gone for a quick run in the car and it does indeed pop up an overlay in Google Maps indicating an alert with voice message so it's looking even better ☺ |

I did find however that verbal alerts overlay Google Maps verbal directions however which makes neither of any use at certain times (coincidence of both voices being triggered at the same time). Not sure if CamraApp has navigation capabilities like Google Maps has so can't comment on that, but would welcome advice. |

Is there a feature on the Android app that allows Cameralert to place an overlay on google maps that always shows current speed and the current speed limit whilst driving?
That would be an excellent feature for me if its there or could be offered. |
