Is there a way to save new camera info to the device without submitting to the site? Or does everything need to submitted? If I turn off submitting in settings, I can not submit anything.
Thanks. |

Sorry, I can't help with your question...
But may I ask why you'd want to add a new camera but not submit it? _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

I have been using Garmin camera subscription (in Maryland, USA). There are what I would call "temporary fixed" cameras around. Big metal box rigs that are moved from place to place. I know the locations, but not sure if they are actually still active (you get use to the warning and stop looking). Would like to be reminded to look if I go past them to see if the camera is there. Don't want to submit if no camera. |

You are correct, turning off transmission prevents you from submitting any camera locations, it's an All or Nothing feature.
However, you can submit the good camera locations using the map feature on this page.
If you click on the Big Yellow Pointy finger to the right of your question you can position the cameras you know about. _________________ Garmin Nuvi 2599

Ah
What I want to do is travel down the A40 and log the positions of most of the new specs cameras. I want to log them locally then tidy up the position and direction and do a mass upload once I'm happy.
Obviously Cameralert is not the tool. Must try and find an Android lat/long app where I can log a number of positions.
Or, can I use Cameralert on the assumption it will build my submitted cameras and I can tidy them here before the verifier goes out to check?
Any ideas? _________________ Satnav:

Hi Kremmen. Yes, CamerAlert on you phone will do that.
If you turn off the submission / transmission button in settings , all of your locations are stored on the device for you to review/tweak at a later stage before submitting to the site with CamerAlert.
However, from memory, the only thing that isn't editable after the event is Lat/Long. That is fixed. _________________ Garmin Nuvi 2599

I don't do this, so I don't know. But isn't it possible to add a voice note? It has to be brief, but for example "Don't use these coordinates, place it 200yds northeast". Not practical? _________________ Dennis

OK thanks
That should do it as I can get it right on Google maps and streetview from the Cameralert data and submit them via the website.
Hopefully next week
