I have been advised to copy my Email to the forum. I hope this is the appropriate forum.
Dear MaFt,
Please forgive if my enquiry is inappropriately addressed to you but I feel you may be the person with the relevant knowledge to assist me.
The new Citroen C4 Picasso Grand Exclusive + has an integrated navigation system using a 7" touch screen. It seems the device uses the 'NAVTEQ' mapping system (Europe) known as 'HERE' and also has a so called 'speed camera database' product known as 'Citroen Risk Areas'. Both are loaded by means of a USB stick.
As I continue to be a happy user of your safety camera database and POI for my Garmin portable SatNav, I am anxious to know if you might be able to ascertain if your data base can be loaded into this French box of tricks.
To try to be helpful I have included the link to the Citroen website showing the navigation information:
http://citroen.navigation.com/C4PicassoNew_2014/Citroen-sat-nav-Touchscreen-Europe-GPS-map-Risk-Areas-2013-2-Edition/citroen-eu/product/T1000-21634C/en_GB/EUR/
I hope you find my enquiry interesting and feel that the outcome may eventually be worth adding to your company's comprehensive and broad database.
Meanwhile my best wishes to you and the team.
Yours sincerely,
John. |

Have you actually got this satnav? And if so, do you have the manual? |

Hello M8TJT,
Thank you for your reply and my apologies for my late response.
My question anticipates the purchase of this vehicle by my elderly brother who is not adept with this kind of technology. I am expected to assist him, hence the reason for my enquiry.
I have downloaded this vehicle's Handbook but it does not detail whether a 'foreign' applilcation, ie. PocketGPSworld 'Speed Camera Database', can be loaded. Are you able to provide a solution or are you able to point me in the right direction for my further research?
Kind regards. |

If possible get it on USB and look at it in Windows and see what the file looks like.
If it's a bog standard CSV file then there are possibilities. _________________ Satnav:

I don't know if it helps, but the Citroen web site suggests that the "NEW GRAND C4 PICASSO Exclusive+" has the "eMyWay - colour satellite navigation, European mapping and additional USB socket".
There doesn't appear to be a lot of info on the forums about eMyWay, but this thread suggests that it uses "hazardareas.lwd" . Further searching produces this info. Following the link there suggests that there is a way to construct the lwd files for your own POIs.
It looks like you could be breaking new ground!! _________________ Jock

Dear Jock TamsinsBairn, Kremmen and M8TJT,
Thank you all so much for your help and advice. I'm afraid that further research on my part will now have to be held over until after my dear old brother receives delivery of this Citroen sometime during July this year!
I would like to return to this subject after that time and post actual and factual information once I get my hands on this French box of tricks.
I intend to post under the heading of 'An Interesting Question II'
Please, would you all bear with me. Thanks.
John. |

Why don't you just continue this thread?
Using the menu item 'Forums ~ New Posts' Brings up all the posts that you and others have not read and it's my standard way of finding out what's new. |
