Just one more question (I hope!). Which is the latest version? I have read through the whole thread about your program, which I know you have tweaked several times. I don't understand a lot of your discussions with Walker, but I can tell that between you you have made quite a lot of alterations to the original. Just point me to the one I should download, please!
Many thanks for all the help. |

Ah yes, take the program from the first link in the above thread. This version contains the whole .NET4 links and installs via InstallSheild. _________________ Satnav:

Kremmen, I am in awe!
I hope your programme is still available when all my TT's are dead and I buy my next SatNav (which in all probability shall not be a TT ) _________________ Garmin Nuvi 2599

I started it as a mini project because all I could find available wasn't free in the format I wanted it.
It started out in VB6 and then I migrated it to VB2010/.NET4
Then WalkerX analysed it and made some significant changes using the latest features as I am still a novice post VB6.
I have no intention of losing the source code and Admin permitting will always be available. _________________ Satnav:

I now have a new problem: I did as you said, and downloaded the program from the first link. When I open it, all the files go green, great. Then when I click on "process" I get an error message: " Access to the path 'C:\program Files(x86)\Garmin\POI Loader\_Need_Help.htm is denied.5. ". The last file mentioned can vary, as I deleted some of them, but this one can't be deleted and I have a feeling that even if it could, another one would take its place.
What do I do? When I used another version of your program it worked fine, except for the multiple warnings, which drive me crazy! |

I started again, and re-downloaded everything! But now, when I launch the Converter the middle column is pink, and I get the message that the .csv files do not have matching sound files. This is ridiculous, as in the actual POI Loader folder all the .wav files are there, and they all match, except that in the Converter the top CSV file in the panel is "gatso_Twenty.csv", which has a corresponding .bmp file but no .wav file. Those particular .csv and .bmp files do not appear in the POI loader folder either. All the others match. The sox file is also in that folder.
Now what? I just don't understand what has gone wrong. I thought I had it all sussed! |

I've just looked at my graphic higher up this thread and I have a gatso_Twenty.wav and .bmp = what you done with it ? :D
That's why I recommend only unzipping the camera files as the existing .wav and .bmp are untouched. _________________ Satnav:

The answer to your question is that those files (the gatso_20 ) are not in the downloaded camera database. I checked, even downloaded them again, and they are simply not there. All the files begin with "pgpsw,".
How do I get round this? What I don't understand is that this only happened when I downloaded your program again from the first link in your thread. When I downloaded what I thought was the latest version, last week, it worked, but I had the multiple warnings. |

I've just downloaded the latest file and they are all there:
pocketgps_uk_gatso_20.csv
pocketgps_uk_gatso_20.bmp
pocketgps_uk_gatso_20.wav
Because the Garmin will use the physical number in the filename to override any internal file settings I have to change 20 to 'twenty', 30 to 'thirty' and so on.
I'm also removing the underscores as they tend to get in the way.
Have another look at the download options as the option to include 'voice files' is an 'option'. _________________ Satnav:

I just tried again, and still got the pink middle column and error messages. Then I ran your program as Administrator, and it worked - all files went green, and I loaded them onto the Nuvi.
I'll get on the road tomorrow morning, I set the times to shorter ones, and the overspeed tomes to "0", so hopefully I won't get the multiple warnings.
We'll keep our fingers crossed! |

I tried it on the way to work this morning. I still get multiple warnings - whether or not I am driving within the speed limit. In particular, there is an "unverified mobile speed camera, 30 mph" in one area that I drive through, and there I have almost continual warnings.
I have set the overspeed time to "0" in all cases.
On other parts of the route I think there are fewer warnings than before. I have set the warning time for a 50 mph limit to 10 seconds, and I seem to get one warning about 30 seconds before the camera, and another about 10 seconds before. I am also fairly sure that I am still getting warnings for cameras on the other side of the dual carriageway. The result, as I am sure you can imagine, is a lot of unneccesary warnings! What I really would like is one warning, about 10 seconds before the camera, as I rarely drive at more than 10 mph overspeed (don't tell anyone!), and perhaps another one just before the camera. How can I set the program for that? |
