I've just heard that you can no longer change the distance/time for a warning before a 'safety' camera in TomToms. Is that true?
Is that also true for Garmin's own 'Cyclops' safety cameras?
I do a lot of motorway driving so need to be able to set this to a fair distance for mobile cameras. Presumably, if the propriety alerts aren't flexible, I'll need to go for a device that can allow PGPSW POIs - so that's the 2013 TomToms out! |

I don't think you've EVER been able to change it on the Garmin/Cyclops database, have you?
One of the reasons to use ours...

No, the Garmin ones are also 'what they are' ...
But no longer fussed as I've at last switched to the ones from here |

Hi
Not 100% but I think the TYRE software will allow you to put custom POIs on to tomtom nav 3 devices |

NAV3 devices natively support custom POIs like ours anyway... |

If there's any confusion...
"NAV2" TomToms are older models upto and including GOx50 series, ONE, XL, old Start +Start20/25, etc.
- Use TomTom 'Home' to add the PGPSW camera warnings
"NAV3" TomToms are the GO1000 and 1005, GO825, VIA series, Start60 etc.
- Use 'MyTomTom' to add the PGPSW camera warnings
(See the compatibility chart http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Cameras&referer=SideBar for the full model numbers for NAV2 and NAV3)
"NAV4" TomToms are the NEW GO400,500,600,5000,6000 models for 2013
- EVENTUALLY will use 'MyTomTom' to add the PGPSW camera warnings, but TT have not got their act together to implement any POI functionality yet. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |
