Any help anyone could give me on choosing the right set up for using GPX on a pocket loox would be really appreciated. I am so confused with all the different software and hardware options.
Much obliged to you all :P

It must seem strange replying to my own message but I just realised that I put GPX when I meant to put GPS, hope it makes sense now.

Theres a good reason there aren't many loox owners - the previous machines were terrible.
I never had so much of my life wasted, as when I tried to get bluetooth working with my original Loox.
One bitten, twice very shy.
Never again will I get something that is not already in the top three of it's field, sales wise.
Terrible support, and it had lots and lots of problems. |

Hi
you are not the only one in the world using a pocket loox with GPS, but I suspect there are very few of us. A group of 4 of us in the office have got the loox 600 (with our jobs) and added tomtom; 1 with a wired receiver (me) and 3 with CF based receivers.
Between us we have come across most of the funnies. No-one has been brave enough to try bluetooth (and actually never reallly wanted to).
So go ahead and give it a go. There are a few quirks when starting (make sure you have a gps fix and tomtom is running before putting it in the cradle) and never rush it, and you'll be fine.
We use it all over the country (england & wales anyway) and apart from the lack of M6 Toll (unbelievable!!) it has never let us down.
best wishes, Steve |
