This is my first post about my first Tomtom.
In the past, I have been provided with Garmin's for my work navigation.
I now have a Tomtom Start 25.
Question - is there anything similar to Base Camp or Map Source for Tomtom?
I know about TT's online route planner, but while I am out and about, I dont always have access to the internel and want to be able to plane my routes on my laptop locally.
Is this possible.
Thanks in advance. |

not for newer models like yours, unfortunately.
Older TomToms had several good solutions for this, including the excellent "Tyre" (http://www.tyretotravel.com/)
But none of the latest TomTom models support "Itinerary Planning", which is what is needed to import the .itn route files.
All you can do is add 3-4 "waypoints" onto an A-B route, and you can only do that on the device itself.
It's a crying shame and a source of complete bewilderment to most people why TomTom should have made such an awful business decision. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

Is this still the same? |

Afraid so.
TT have now launched their even newer range and THAT doesn't have any itinerary planning either, although it *is* promised for the future.
But I believe they have no plans to ever get it added to the NAV3 models _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |
