|
|
I've seen an XXL (2013) UK and Europe spec advertised at Globalgps.co.uk, claiming that this has a higher spec than previous versions, with faster processor and higher resolution screen.
I assume that it's not like the latest models that can't be detected as a drive on Windows PC's?
Halfords are currently selling the XXL UK, ROI and Western Europe at £95, and I can pick it up from my local store, but does anyone know how I can tell if this is the 2013 spec version, or just old stock? I don't trust the staff there to know (or tell me). |

Well, the specs also say this:
Quote: | The TomTom XXL is in the process of being replaced with the new release from TomTom, the TomTom Start 25 EU . This will be replacing all TomTom XXL units in 2013. |
And the Start 25 DOES require MyTomTom and the user has no access to the file system on that model.
So, judge accordingly. _________________ David |

Yes, you would lose file system access with a MyTomTom/Home3 device but on the plus side the Start 25 is offered with lifetime maps of Europe either bundled or as an upgrade and which the XL/XXL series never were. |
