Please advise if CamerAlert can be added to the inbuilt nav system in my Vauxhall Zafira. On its screen it will allow own POI to be loaded. Thanks,

Do you know the underlying nav software supplier and give us a quick explanation as to how you import the custom POIs from the manual.

THe system is Navteq on a SD card. It says in the book to create a small program on a word processor ie Lat long Name of POI each entry on a separate line. The go into the sat nav and with a USB connection down load my POI.

I am rather to old in the tooth for that and would just like to purchase a SD card with it all on. Thanks

If it tells you the format (CSV, txt etc) then you might be able to download the right files here (if you have a subscription), copy to an SD card and you're away.

What EXACTLY do the instructions say?

Try to copy from instruction book.

This site will not let me copy the page of instruction that I scaned.

Far to hard for me to type etc so guess I will have to live with it.

Thanks for the interest.

POI files are .asc and I would need to copy from a USB via the USB socket in the car.[/quote]

There is a database file under Other - ASC which might work.

If you have a subscription you can try that.

On the other hand if you can give a link to the manual online or the instructions required, PGPSW may tailor a file to suit.

According to some random german-translated-to-english website about the Zafira satnav it is the same as the one in the Nissan Qashquaisuaiuaaai - as such it may be worth trying the Nissan Connect download format.

Does the Zafira stereo/satnav have a name or model?

Dont know if its any help, but the Antara has a built in system too, here's the PDF link for the manual:
http://www.vauxhall.co.uk/content/dam/Vauxhall/Europe/united_kingdom/nscwebsite/uk/Home/pdf/Owners_Services/owners_manuals/Antara_Infotainment_Manual_February_2012.pdf

I'd like to get the Camera database on my Antara too if poss.
Thanks, Dave

Page 44 of that manual shows how to create and install custom POIs (although the index says it's p35 which is wrong!).

Looks like it works the same as the Nissan ones so please can you try the Nissan Connect download and install guide: http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/uksafetycameras-nissan-connect.php

If it works I will update the compatibility stuff as well a referencing the Vauxhall systems in the install guide.

Although the Vauxhall manual says it needs .asc file. If it doesn't accept the .csv file of the Nissan download you can simply rename it and chage the extension to .asc as the content of the file is the same.
