Hi all,
Apologies if this is covered elsewhere but I can't find it.
I have a problematic 540 which could do with being replaced.
I don't like the 825 mount and some reviews of the 1005 screen, speed and battery life concern me a little.
Anyone have any idea when a new 825/1005 replacement may be launched?
I don't fancy buying one and then a brand new bigger, better, improved flavour comes out next day
Thanks

Good question.
The 1005 has been around for a while now. I presume an updated range is in progress but TT won't release details until its ready for fear of cannibalising the existing sales.
I'd love to see a new version with 6" screen. Based on TT having a basic version with 6" screen I'm hopeful they'll create new products based on this size. I would certainly upgrade.
In the meantime I'd recommend the 1005. It's been an excellent Sat-Nav for the last 14 months. |

My GO1000 is a little slow at times in responding to touch screen menus, so I assume the 1005 series is the same.
A faster processor, possibly dual core seems to be the way that most other devices are going such as phones and tablet PC's.
I would hope the next-gen Tomtom's are dual core devices. _________________ GO 620, Tomtom Android EU,

I've got a Go1000Live and a GO1005Live and I find that both suit my purposes. I've not had problems with either and use them mainly overseas during the summer months. Not really let me down at all since I have had them. Make sure you always have the latest Navcore/Application and mapping and they should serve you well for some time to come.
PS There are other alternative mounts available (at a price) ;-) _________________ Gee-Pee
