my father's tt750 is rebooting and he stopped by removing external card which has map on. He has tried a back up card which does the same.
He is currently touring Germany in motor-home so is hopes to get this fixed.
I know in the past i've had problems on my 750 with the mapsetting file but as other card is the same think it might me more serious.
Any ideas please would be much appreciated.

Perhaps reset the unit with the card in it by holding the power button about 15 seconds till the drum sounds unless that model had a dedicated reset hole.??? _________________ David |

Does he have access to computer? If so, connect the unit to Home, use the Emulator (Operate my unit) and Manage Favourites--Add a favourite.
Then disconnect the unit properly using the Device Disconnect icon. _________________ David |

Yes he has a laptop with him, I was going to suggest this same fix but there is no wifi on site as he needs to download home. |

Alternatively, this has worked for me - connect to computer, use 'Operate My TomTom' then delete recent destinations (Route to - Recent Destinations - Delete button at bottom of screen) |

Use Windows Explorer to locate the map folders, open them and delete the MapSettings.cfg file in each map folder then see what it does, you will lose POI settings, recent destinations and your home address but it doesn't take long to set it back up - Mike |

He went one better and has just bought tomtom XXL(119 euro). He took to a shop and the assistant convinced him it was an internal memory fault and will need to back to TT.
Thank all for help. I'll post back if/when 750 is fixed if I find anything useful.
