The magnets for my Go1000Live have fallen out. Anyone know where I can beg, borrow, buy or steal them?

I can't see any magnets on my 550, is it different from a 950? Edit... post title and previous post said GO950, now edited to 1000.
Anyway, I presume they're small, how about stealing a fridge magnet (or several)?
When I was young enough to have forgotten by now, we made magnets at school, two ways...
1. Wrap a wire round a nail and connect the wire to a battery.
2. Stroke the nail with another magnet.
If those don't work, it explains why the physics master suggested I do Geography or Latin instead.

Sorry Guys. Gave the wrong device description, Have altered it now - it's a GO1000Live. I guess you were all being kind to me and not openly saying that the 950 does not have magnets.
Anyway, they are about 2mm in diamenter and hold the multiplug connection to the device. There's two of them about 24mm apart. When they were first introduced I seem to rememberr there were lots of people saying they had falled out and they glued them back - I would too, if I could find them,
I guess I could magnetise a 2" nail and saw off two little pieces, but I suspect the magnetisation would be lost by the sawing. Could I sent you a nail, Denis, and let you practise your Physics

Maplin N51AK £3 for 6 but they are 5mm diam. and jolly strong. You have to remove the magnets from the attachment wire thingy. They are crimped on and com of easily. They used to do a range of different diameter ones, but they seem to have discontinued them. |

When you edited your post, you forgot to edit the title, so I've done it.
He's right, I wasn't being kind, I just had no idea! If I remember rightly, I don't do kind, just subtle (and I'm trying to give that up).
By the way, according to my dementia, if you stroke a magnet with a hammer, it stops sticking to stuff.

The real magnets are much smaller than 5mm (I reckon they are 3mm) and they aren't something you can file down!
The proper ones are also very strongly magnetised and I don't think a soft iron nail would ever get magnetised strongly enough.
Unless you can get TomTom to send you some (good luck explaining that to a CS droid!), I think you'll have to buy a new charger cable and butcher the plug to get the magnets out. (Don't forget to turn them round before you glue them in!  )
Also, from personal experience I would suggest you DON'T use superglue.
It sets before you can push the magnet far enough down the hole!

Oh children, children! Blue Sky thinking, Out of the Box.  You saw the two little pieces off BEFORE you do the magnetisation thing! I'd do it for you, but I haven't got a bit of wire, or a magnet, sorry.

Hole is 2mm deep and I think the magnet is no more that 2mm in diam. I'll have a look at Maplins in the morning and get an idea of what they have first, but thanks for the link. I did do a replacement job on a previous device when they too fell out and used superglue, but I put the tiniest drop at the bottom of the hole and carefully dropped the magnet it so that only the bottom of the magnet touched the glue. They are still holding. I seem to remember, you saying some time ago that you did a little drilling to slightly open the hole on yours - was that you?? Maybe I am mis-remembering - Dennis' dementia is catching.
