After successfully (thanks to the Forum) getting TTN III to locate a signal and to plan some test routes, I now get ready for the first drive out to discover no voice guidance. Checked the sound settings on the TomTom - all correct, all ticked, volume at max. Checked the XDAII pocket PC. Sound systems working on that - played some music and recorded a voice memo to make sure. Clicked on the 'test' button on The TomTom properties screen and still met with silence. Sound yesterday and dumbness today Please don't tell me I have to do a hard reset and try all over again? Thanks in advance for any advice. _________________ Elderly Vern |

A soft reset may be enough to cure your problem it seems to fix a lot of little quirks. |

did you add the voice files when you installed the software to the xda try changeing the voice prompts if that doesnt work then if it was me id reinstall the the software after unistalling it using activesync or the remove programs on the ppc
just as a side thought to test if the voice files are there start tt3 up then go to properties on the fisrt screen you will see a check box for voice instructions make sure that is checked theres a slide control move that to the righthand side of the xda then press the test button on the screen you should hear a voice instruction other or you could use file explorer to see if their there if not as above im afraid its a reinstall _________________ currently using aponia truck navigation on windows phone. I had this too and it drove me MAD!
Try going to Start\settings\sounds & reminders\ Enable sounds for programs.
This sorted it out for me.
Let us know if it works for you too, |

Many thanks to alix776 and to copthorneking.
I tried absolutely everything. The best solution was to admit defeat and to send, in my case, the whole lot including my XDA II to Global Positioning Systems whom I bought the TomTom system from. They have been VERY helpful and concerned. Going to recommend them to all, if it comes back working! _________________ Elderly Vern |
