Yes, maps are locked to each device and are not transferable between devices!
You will have to buy a new map for your device.

You could try phoning TT customer services and explaining it to them. They may be sympathetic and allow a one time transfer of the map, they may not though without some form of proof.

Almost certainly TomToms.
It's a general error - HTTP 500 errors are internal to the webserver and have no meaning to the visitor other that "site is broken" in some way. _________________ Richard

Thank you everyone who replied, something wierd happened, connected tt to comp using the sd card which came with the second hand unit, it checked for updates and told me map out of date, checked the box to install updates and it downloaded new maps.
I was going to purchase but this has saved me some money.
Any ideas why?????

As a guess, I would say that when you logged into Your Account at TT, it compared the Map on the SD Card with what was allocated to Your Account.
It saw the discrepancy and, for once, HOME did the sensible thing. Possibly because they were the same Map - just one was out of date.
Might be useful to remember that for the future. I wonder if it would work with non-SD Cards Units. _________________ Richard
