Each camera type *IS* a category of POI.
Or did you mean "can all the files be put into a folder before adding them"?
If that's what you mean - No.
All the POI files have to go into the map folder (that's effectively what MyTT is doing) and NOT in any sub-folders.
In that reapect, it's the same as it's always been when we copied the files manually on older models. |
Cheers that has answered the question. |

Is there an easy way to download as with the One you could copy and paste, but with the 820 it is a case of browsing for it and you can upload many at a time. |

Do you mean how to get them back OFF the Tomtom?
If you want to do that, then the only way is to use the "Copy to computer" button beside each one, and that *is* still a one-at-a-time job. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

The only way you can download POI's is not as a big group is what I was trying to say (Quite hard to explain). |

Nope, you've lost me.
Where are you downloading them from? _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-)

From this site.
For example if I downloaded all the POI in the Food category there would be over 100. With my old one which had the SD card I could basically download the POI and then copy and paste them all (Unzipped) onto the card.
With the 820 I can download them all, but you can't copy and paste. |

Going back to page one of this topic... yes you CAN select them all at once, and upload them all to the Go820 in one go.
This doesn't work if you use IE9 as your web browser, but on all the others (Firefox, Opera, Chrome etc.) you can click and drag, shift-click, or control-click to select several files at once.
There's some pics I did yesterday showing it working in THIS TOPIC. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

You certainly can't do that in Firefox. You can only click and drag with the mouse, or by shift-click or Ctrl-click so many. Not sure what the maximum is, but just tried it with all the Food & Drink and it didn't work. |

Red rag to a bull mate....
I don't know why it's not working for you, but it certainly is for me.
Here's a couple of pictures of the MyTomTom file selection window, with the entire PGPSW Food and drink section of POIs (102 separate categories, 204 separate files) selected all at once in Firefox 3; done by just clicking and dragging with the mouse.
Forgive me if I don't actually add them to the device, as I don't fancy removing all 204 files one by one! _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

That the problem I can select them ALL like you have, but can't add them ALL at once to the device. |

I recently got a Tom Tom Go Live 820, and had a lot of trouble getting the files onto it, mainly because I couldn't access the "add Community Content" from the My Tom Tom program. Somehow it appeared once, and I added all my Speed Camera Files (.bmp and .ov2) but I had to do them one by one. I haven't tested it on the road yet, but will report back! |

To continue, it does work! But I have now updated the speed camera info and can't access the "Add Community Content" again. I've uninstalled IE 9 and gone back to IE8 and it makes no difference. Actually, I can't open the "MY Tom Tom" application at all. I have to go online and re-download it every time I connect the device. Something is obviously wrong, and I don't know what. |
